- National, family-owned communications company has an immediate, full-time opening for a programmer analyst to develop and maintain software ranging in complexity from ad-hoc scripts to complicated provisioning systems supporting multiple concurrent clients with high transactional volume. We embrace open-source technologies, and require someone able to work independently on all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle. This individual will physically work at our cable television properties in Hagerstown, MD, located in the western part of the state, approximately 60 miles from Baltimore and Washington, DC.
Work includes gathering application development requirements and translating those requirements into the programming needed to produce software applications and integrations between third party products and/or in-house IT systems. This position is also responsible for designing, developing and automating systems processes to support effective and efficient operations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data analysis, process analysis, application development, process automation, workflow development, report generation, programming, administration, primary support, maintenance.
Qualification::
- Programming experience utilizing PHP and a modern application framework. Laravel a plus.
- Expert knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.
- Solid understanding of SQL (MySQL/MariaDB).Basic experience with front-end JavaScript development (including jQuery).
- Experience with REST, SOAP, SOA methodologies, XML.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into software solutions.
- Experience refactoring code.
- Recent experience with LAMP.
- Familiar with Agile software development.
- Experience with a front-end JavaScript framework such as React, Ember, or Vue a plus.
- Experience with Single Sign On platforms such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, or SAML a plus.
- Experience with version control (Git, Github) a plus.
- Experience with a shell scripting language such as sh, bash, zsh, csh a plus.
- UI/UX experience a plus.
- Linux experience a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
